APP recognised the issue that deforestation is having on local communities and that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with efforts to improve health and education, reduce inequality, empower women and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. Therefore, Desa Makmur Peduli Api (DMPA), was introduced by APP in 2015 to tackle the issue.
